What goes into one of our saunas
The parts you can't see matter as much as the wood you can. Here's how we build.
- WoodWestern red cedar, aspen or hemlock interiors. Clear, knot-free bench boards that stay comfortable to sit on.
- HeatElectric sauna heaters sized to the room's volume, with digital or wall controls. Wiring done by a licensed electrician.
- EnvelopeInsulated walls and ceiling, foil vapour barrier, and proper intake and exhaust venting.
- FinishesSolid cedar doors built in-house, warm LED lighting under the benches, cedar heater guards, and a floor that handles heat and water.
- ExtrasCedar-lined skylights, exterior wall cladding and lighting, tiered benches, and duckboard flooring.

Common questions
How much does a custom indoor sauna cost?
Most of the custom indoor saunas we build fall between $10,000 and $20,000, depending on size, wood choice, heater and glass. We give you a written price after the in-home visit.
How much space do I need?
A comfortable two-person sauna can fit in roughly a 4 by 6 foot area. Ceilings around 7 feet work best so the heat stays where you sit.
Do I need a new electrical circuit?
Usually yes. Most sauna heaters need a dedicated 240V circuit. We look at your panel during the visit and include the electrical work in the quote.
How long does the build take?
Most saunas are built in about one to two weeks on site, once materials arrive.
Can you build a sauna in a basement with a concrete floor?
Yes. Basements are one of the best places for a sauna. We handle the floor, insulation and vapour barrier so moisture isn't an issue.
